DESCRIPTION:<p>On Tuesday\, December 16\, 2025\, Antigonish Town Council ga
 ve First Reading to amendments to the Town’s Municipal Planning Strategy a
 nd Land Use By-Law.</p>\n<p>The purpose of these amendments is to moderniz
 e and align zoning regulations with current housing and development needs.
  The changes aim to increase housing options and affordability\, support m
 ixed-use development\, clarify standards for accessory dwelling units\, an
 d update design and dimensional requirements to promote sustainable growth
  and efficient land use.</p>\n<p>As required by the Municipal Government A
 ct (MGA) the Town is hosting a public hearing on these proposed amendments
  on Tuesday\, January 13 at 5:15 p.m. in Council Chambers\, Town Hall (274
  Main Streeet).</p>\n<p>Following the public hearing\, Town will consider\
 , and if deemed appropriate\, give second and final reading to adopt the a
 mendments to the By-Law at the next regular council meeting on January 19\
