Council and staff at the Town and County are busy working with Santa and his elves to plan this year’s holiday activities, including the parade, holiday skates, holiday movies, and more!  Stay tuned for updates and details. 

Friday, November 25: Christmas on Main

Join Heather Rankin and Friends for a free Christmas concert during Christmas on Main, a special evening where Main Street, between College and Church Street will blocked off from vehicle traffic so pedestrians can browse Main Street and enjoy a festive atmosphere.

Lisa Delorey will be taking family photos in Town Hall, there will be performances by Smith Highland Dancers, carollers from Theatre Antigonish, and free hot chocolate. The Chamber of Commerce will be handing out their holiday passports, encouraging residents to shop local this holiday season for a chance to win prizes. 

This event is proudly sponsored by Coastal Nova Scotia with funding from the Government of Canada and support from Develop Nova Scotia, 989 XFM and StFX University.

Sunday, November 27: The Santa Claus Parade - NEW DATE

The Santa Claus Parade is back! Starting at 6 p.m. the parade will leave Fairview Street, head down West Street, to Main Street, and then head up to Antigonish Market Square.

Sunday, November 27: Holiday Movie - The Grinch (2018), 3 p.m. 

The Town, County and StFX University are partnering to bring you several FREE movies this Holiday Season. The movies will be shown in Barrick Auditorium in the Brian Mulroney Institute of Government on StFX Campus.

Popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase. No other outside snacks permitted.

Registration is required and will open on Thursday, November 17 at 12:00 PM.

Santa will be visiting: St. Andrews Community Centre, Glen Aire Estates, École acadienne de Pomquet, Heatherton Community Centre, Paqtnkek Loop, Tracadie & District Volunteer Fire Hall

Santa will be visiting: H.M. MacDonald Elementary School in Maryvale, Arisaig Parish Hall, Mini Trail Community Centre, St. Joseph’s Lakeside Community Centre, Lochaber Community Centre

Sunday, December 11: Holiday Skate

Free Holiday Skate at the Antigonish Arena from 4:30 to 5:20 p.m. 
Helmets are encouraged.
