For the week of August 3, St. Ninian Street will be reduced to one lane for traffic travelling from Church Street towards Cairn Park. A detour will be in place for motorists travelling east towards Church Street. Traffic entering St. Ninian Street will be able to head west towards Cairn Park. Sidewalk impacts to pedestrians include a closure along the StFX side of St. Ninian Street in the construction zone. To learn more about this project, visit the project page on our website:townofantigonish.ca/active-transportation-trail.html

The road spanning the construction zone is now open in both directions while off-road work continues for the section of East Main Street between Haley Road and Adam Street. Line painting is expected to take place Wednesday August 5 beginning around 6 p.m. weather pending and will include traffic control.

Two-way traffic is expected to continue during the day from August 3-7, and will include stop-and-go traffic control for line painting taking place August 4 and 5. Work is nearing completion on the section of West Street from the roundabout to the intersection at James Street and Convocation Blvd.
