The municipal overnight winter parking ban is in effect annually from December 1 to April 15. The ban is enforced from 12 a.m. to 7 a.m. during declared weather events and snow removal operations. Updates on when the ban is enforced are provided on the Town's website on the Public Notices Page, as well as on Facebook and Twitter throughout the winter season.
Regardless of the status of an overnight winter parking, or whether you have received a notification, vehicles can be towed any time during the day or night if a vehicle is deemed to be interfering with snow-clearing operations, as outlined in Section 139 of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act.
If your car has been towed, please phone 902-863-2785. Vehicles obstructing snow removal or maintenance have been removed at the owner’s expense. The Ban is enforced so the Town’s Public Works crews can operate safety and efficiently when plowing and salting our streets when there is a significant weather system impacting road conditions.
If residents have any questions or concerns, please contact the Town of Antigonish By-Law Office at 902-870-0881 or 902-870-7503.
