The Town of Antigonish raises revenue (through property taxes and provincial grants) to provide services to local residents and local guidance over the development and enhancement of the community. These services often include fire protection and other emergency services, recreation, land use planning, bylaw enforcement, animal control, economic development, provision of sidewalks, trails, and other forms of local transportation, water and sewer services, and the regulation of property maintenance.
