The Town of Antigonish has been made aware of a scam in our community targeting Electric Utility customers. Residents are receiving phone calls from an individual claiming to work for the Town of Antigonish and threatening to turn off their power due to non-payment on their account.

Electric Utility customers will never have their power shut off without ample notice from the Town. The Town is committed to working with residents who have concerns about making payments on their account. Residents who may be concerned about their account status can contact the Town at 902-863-2351.

The Town is advising residents who receive these phone calls to hang up immediately, block or report the phone number to their service provider.
