College Street Bridge Update

The Nova Scotia Department of Labour has lifted the stop work order on the College Street Bridge following the workplace accident that occurred on November 14. 

Work is now expected to resume on the bridge and should be completed over the next week.

This morning, a workplace incident occurred involving a worker at the College Street Bridge project site.

Emergency services were called and the worker was transported to St. Martha's Regional Hospital. The Town has initiated its safety response, per the Town’s Occupational Health and Safety Program’s Investigation Policy.

As part of this response, the worksite has been closed and secured, the Department of Labour has been notified and we will cooperate fully with all relevant authorities to ensure a thorough review of the incident.
