With significant rainfall and high winds in the forecast, the Town would like to advise residents on the importance of being storm-ready. In the event of an emergency, you and your family should be prepared to cope on your own for at least 72 hours.  

To prepare for the upcoming weather event, residents should secure or take in outdoor furniture, flower pots, and garbage bins, as well as ensure windows are closed and basements and backdoors are properly secured.  

Residents should also be mindful of low-lying areas that are prone to flooding such as Columbus Field and the Creighton Lane Parking Lot.   

Please pay attention to any advisories from the RCMP and provincial Emergency Management Office for traffic advisories related to poor road conditions, flooding and visibility during storms. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize flood danger
