Please be advised that beginning Monday, October 27, Dexter Construction and Eastern Trenchless will begin work on West Street (Phase 1) as part of the Town of Antigonish’s ongoing infrastructure renewal program. Work is expected to continue through December 31.

This project involves relining existing sewer mains and rebuilding West Street with new curbs, accessible sidewalks, and road paving. Sewer lining work will occur on West Street (from James Street to Highland Drive) and on James Street.

Sewer lining will require temporary shutdowns of sections of mains, affecting some residents and businesses for up to 24 hours at a time. Direct notices will be provided once specific dates are confirmed. Street construction on West Street will also involve periodic detours through Fairview Street.

Traffic control measures will be in place. Please allow additional time to reach your destination.
