The Town of Antigonish has been made aware of a scam in our community targeting Water Utility customers. Residents are receiving phone calls from an unknown number saying they won a prize about having a water test done by a private company and the individuals conducting the test will come to their home.

Water Utility customers will never be contacted by a private company about water testing. Any communications from the Water Utility will be done via Town Email or by Town staff.

The Town is advising residents to immediately hang up, block or report the phone number to their service provider. In addition, residents are advised to never give their civic address to an unknown caller. Town officials have contacted the RCMP to make them aware of this scam.
