For the third year, the Town of Antigonish will be taking part in “Delightful December”; an initiative that sees all revenue collected from the Town parking meters during the month of December donated to the Antigonish Emergency Fuel Fund and the Antigonish Community Food Bank.
“Town Council unanimously voted to bring back Delightful December. It’s a wonderful initiative aimed at providing two essential community organizations with more resources,” says Mayor Laurie Boucher. “We know there are members of our community feeling financial strain due economic pressures and the increase in the cost of living. By supporting the Fuel Fund and the Food Bank, we hope to relieve some of these pressures for our residents.”
In past years, the Town would offer free holiday parking for the month of December. Delightful December began in 2020 to support two important community organizations that provide essential resources to the community.
“Organizations like the Fuel Fund and the Food Bank are vital to our community as they provide Antigonish residents with critical services; heat and food,” says Mayor Boucher. “Town Council is proud to support the Delightful December initiative.”
