Storm Update - Monday, February 5 at 9:20 a.m.
Snow clearing efforts continue today. Our Public Works crews have prioritized keeping main streets and feeder streets clear all weekend and will now focus on side streets. Crews are clearing sidewalks in the downtown and will then move out to residential neighbourhoods.
As people begin moving around and businesses open, we remind residents to not park on the street so that plows can push snow back. Parking lots in the downtown have been cleared for short term parking.
If you are aware of a fire hydrant in your neighbourhood and can help first responders by clearing snow around it, that would be greatly appreciated.
We received an estimated 80 to 85 cm of snow. Our Public Works crews have done an amazing job working around the clock in blizzard conditions. We ask for patience as clean-up will continue over the next couple of days and we encourage folks to help their neighbours wherever possible
