Public Notice - Update regarding Sewage Treatment Plant

An update from the Town of Antigonish regarding the Sewage Treatment Plant:
Two weeks ago, there was a mechanical issue at the Town’s Sewage Treatment Plant at the east end of Main Street. The equipment was replaced mid-last week and the plant has resumed normal operations.
While the Town does perform regular, scheduled maintenance at the plant, mechanical issues can arise, which may cause a disruption to the process resulting in an odor. This odor is not harmful. It is important to note that due to the nature of the plant, it does take time for the plant to recover and return to its regular processes.
The Town apologizes for the inconvenience this has caused our community.

Please note that Town Hall will be closed Monday, October 2, 2023 in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Town Hall will return to normal municipal operations Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 8:30 a.m.

The Town Electric Utility is advising residents of a planned power outage required for equipment upgrades tonight Friday, September 29, 2023.
Public Notice - Water Maintenance: Tuesday, September 26

Please be advised the Town of Antigonish will be conducting water utility maintenance on Xavier Drive between Braemore Avenue and Hillside Drive on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Xavier Drive will be closed in both directions between Hillside Drive and Braemore Avenue. Detours are in place. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to please use caution when entering the work area.
Water utility customers on Xavier Drive from Northview Drive to Hawthorne Street and the upper Heights may experience low water pressure, as well as water discoloration.
The Town of Antigonish apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
