The Town of Antigonish has applied to the Board for approval of the capital costs of its community solar garden. The total cost is $8,200,000, which includes about $4,200,000 in expected grant funding from the federal and provincial governments and other recoveries. The remaining amount of about $4,000,000 is proposed to be recovered from ratepayers through the Town of Antigonish Electric Utility’s revenue requirement, beginning in the next General Rate Application. Only the actual incurred final project cost, net of grant funding, would be included in the utility’s revenue requirement.
