Town of Antgonish Winter Parking Regulations

To enable the Town of Antigonish Public Works crews and contractors to remove snow, and salt streets more efficently and safely, residents and other users are reminded that Section 139 of The Motor Vehicle Act for the Province of Nova Scotia prohibits vehicles from obstructing snow removal or other winter maintenance. The Act allows for such vehicles to be removed at the owner's expence. The Winter Parking Regulations are in effect from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on all town streets, parking lots and includes all streets and marked parking lots on St.F.X. University Campus.

Preauthorized Payments

"The Town is now gathering banking information from those utility customers who wish to pay their water and electric bills using preauthorized payments. If you wish to have your bills paid in this manner, email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your banking information, or drop off a void cheque at Town Hall, and identify which accounts you wish to include in this payment option.

The Town is also considering monthly budget payment plans for taxes and utilities. This option will only be offered on a preauthorized payment basis only. You may contact us if that is of interest to you."

The Town, at its September meeting of Council, approved a Policy concerning the establishment of a System of Fire Inspections. It is intended that this policy will fulfill the Town's obligations concerning inspection as required under the Provincial Fire Safety Act and Regulations.
