Town Looks to the Future with Updated MPS

The Town of Antigonish is pleased to announce its brand-new Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-Law are now in effect after receiving final written approval from the Nova Scotia Department of Municipal Affairs. An MPS is a document that allows Council to identify goals and policies that will guide future decisions on the development of the Town, as well as services available for residents.

Canada Day Announcement

The Town of Antigonish has made the difficult decision to cancel our annual Canada Day Celebrations at Columbus Field due to COVID-19. This decision was made after careful consideration and following the advice being given by public health officials.

Feeding Deer: More Harm Than Good

The Town of Antigonish is asking residents in our community to not feed deer that may be visiting your property. The Town understands that residents mean well and it can be exciting to see nature up close, but deer have plenty of food in their natural environment and are very skilled at finding their own food.

Skatepark Rules for Use During COVID-19

The Antigonish All-Wheels Skatepark has been re-opened as of Wednesday, June 3, 2020 under new guidelines. The guidelines were developed to keep social distancing practices in mind while also ensuring everyone has access to the Skatepark.

Parks and Recreation Facilities Update

As the provincial restrictions have been lifted on playgrounds and limitations on gatherings have been expanded the Town would like to provide an update on our parks and recreation facilities effective June 19, 2020.
