We have strengths and experience in tourism, service sector, hospital, health and wellness, and education. The main business areas are the downtown Main Street, West Street, the Mall and the large box stores on Post Road. The province of Nova Scotia has announced recently (Sept 2016) that it is partnering with St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, to create a new Centre for Employment Innovation. This centre will be the provincial hub for research and innovation in employment services delivery. In our downtown area you will find a variety of restaurants pubs and eateries, retail and service businesses, a campground, and just a few steps to the university. Organizations such as the Career Centre, ACALA and NOBL offer business education opportunities.
