At a Special Meeting held on June 1, 2022, Antigonish Town Council approved 2022-2023 municipal budget of $11,788,431 in operating costs and a capital project plan valued at $ 2,294,375. Town Council’s budget approval comes with a $0.01 tax rate increase for residential and commercial properties. The residential tax rate is now $1.11 per $100 of assessment and the commercial property rate is now $2.63 per $100 of assessment.

Applications for the Low-Income Property Tax Exemption are now available for homeowners living in the Town of Antigonish.

The deadline for submission is June 10, 2022 at 4 p.m.

Please visit the Finances & Tax Rates page on our website to download an application. Hard copies can also be picked up in person at Town Hall.

At a Regular Council Meeting held on Monday, March 21, 2022, Town Council voted via resolution to approve a temporary increase to the taxicab transport rate by $1.00. This increase will bring the flat rate for all fares within Town limits to a maximum of $8.00 inclusive of all applicable taxes. The temporary adjustment to taxicab fares expires on May 16, 2022.
